Songs For Your Day

Contributors!

Contributor/Editor: Laura Relyea

Laura is a musician and writer. Her passion for these two things, as well as for people who share her enthusiasm, are what spawned the idea for this project. She lives life very deliberately and in many different directions. Currently she lives in Atlanta, Georgia, and she is all right with becoming a southern bell. You can find some of her non-fiction work in PASTE magazine and Indiana Insight.  Her flash-fiction has previously been recognized by the Missouri Writer’s Guild.

Contributor/Editor: Christopher Newgent

christopher

Christopher lives as a writer in Indianapolis, Indiana. He is coming to terms with the idea of being a true blogger. Apart from editing and writing for Songs for Your Day, he is also a co-editor and writer for the Indy-centric cycling blog, IndyCog.com. He is a jack-of-all-genres, but unfortunately a master of none. This being the case, his work has appeared in Freight Stories, Kritik, Poetry East, Everyday Genius, and others. Most recently, his story “At the Fire Scene” was recognized in the wigleaf Top 50 (very) Short Fiction of 2009 list.

Tommy is a freelance audio engineer out of Nashville, TN with a passion for music and the cats who create it.  New to the blog scene and coming off of a five year hiatus from writing analytically, he’s glad to be back in business with ‘Songs for Your Day.’  Be prepared for nostalgia, new chapters and sudden stops ahead.

Contributor: Rebecca Patrick

Rebecca is a student of economics and anything else she can get her hands on.  She adores the magic music brings to her life and enthusiastically shares that wonder with her dear friends.  Rebecca is also a third culture kid, an amalgamation of countries, cultures, and the many wonderful people she has met from all these.  Lover of The Economist, front porches, flowers, her bike, unique adjectives, coffee, spending all day in the sun, and her family.

Contributor: Stephen Killion

Stephen!

Stephen is a recent graduate completing his graduate studies in architecture. When not designing spatial interventions, he also dabbles in other forms of design and artistic interpretation. His passion for music comes from its direct connection to everyday life and how it can evoke and accentuate even the most banal moments of the day. Not a writer by trait, he apologizes for any butchering of the English language that may occur in his posts, and hopes that the ideas outshine his lack of literary talents.

Contributor: Anthony Settineri

Anthony Settineri was born in Elgin, IL, the son of poor sharecroppers. He has since listened to music in thirty-eight states and seven foreign countries. He is an undisputed expert in every subject. Also, he is humble.

Contributor: Andrew Schmidt

Andrew grew up in and resides in Madison, WI. He dabbles in photography, grows various forms of facial hair, and sports a mean farmer’s tan all year long. Currently he moonlights as a software tester, filling his evenings with running, web design, administrating a dining club, and wrestling a beagle while his wife does homework. He is a long-time appreciator of music, good beer, and Arsenal FC; a recent fan of comic books, cupcakes, and roller derby.

Contributor: Peter Cavanaugh

Peter was born weighing 10 lbs 6 oz. This was later bested by his younger cousin, Derek, who came in a Twizzler shy of 11 lbs. It has always been a dark, little asterisk in the book of Cavanaugh. One would think nine months should have been plenty of time to prep, but alas Peter fell victim to the advantages afforded to today’s youth– the modified chicken, prenatal theory books. Since then, he has acquired well over 100 more lbs and moved to Chicago. He is looking forward to completing his undergrad studies this summer and reintroducing himself to that which they call Beer.
